My trip to South Korea follows in the footsteps of a country with many faces, where each city seems to reveal a different facet of its soul.
In Seoul, the bustling capital, skyscrapers and ancient palaces coexist in fragile harmony, reflecting a modernity that has never denied its past.
Further east, Gangneung reveals itself to the rhythm of the waves and the wind, between cafes facing the sea and traditions rooted in the gentleness of misty mornings.
In Andong, time slows down: the thatched roofs of Hahoe, Confucian rites, and lanterns on the river are reminders of a Korea of yesteryear, faithful to the spirit of its ancestors.
The road then leads to Busan, a vibrant port city where fish markets, coastal temples, and night lights respond to each other in a ceaseless movement.
Then Suncheon offers a breath of fresh air, between rice fields, ecological gardens, and peaceful rivers—a hymn to Korean nature.
In Gwangju, memory imposes itself with dignity: that of a people who defended their freedom at the cost of blood, transforming pain into hope.
Finally, Jeju, an island of lava and legends, brings the journey to a close like a poem. Its waterfalls, salty winds, and ancient deities remind us that Korea, despite its transformations, remains a land of life, resilience, and beauty.
